Canada publishes a new piece of legislation to repeal the Consumer Products Containing Lead (Contact with Mouth) Regulations. The new law will become effective on November 2, 2018.
US CARB Publishes Two Articles to Assist the Composite Wood Products Industry

US CARB has announced that it will accept compliant composite wood products that are labeled as TSCA Title VI compliant. The agency also provided a comparison between CARB and US EPA requirements to assist the composite wood products industry.
U.S. – San Francisco Bans the Sale of New Fur Apparel and Accessories

On March 20, 2018, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously approved to ban the sale of new fur apparel and accessories in the city of San Francisco. The ordinance will go into effect on January 1, 2019.
USDA AMS Proposes US National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard

The USDA AMS has issued the proposed US national bioengineered food disclosure standard. The requirement for food labeling of genetically modified products and ingredients will allow the US consumers to have knowledge of what is and isn’t produce from genetic modification.
RoHS Stakeholder Consultation on Seven New Substance Restrictions

On April 20, 2018, a stakeholder consultation was launched by Oeko-Institut on seven substances which are assessed in order to review and amend the RoHS Annex II list of restricted substances as part of the RoHS project “Pack 15”.
